Many men will neglect the appearance of their neck, even though the neck is among the first areas that begin to show signs of aging. Moreover, damage from the sun, as well as weight loss can contribute to a loose, saggy neck. While many people will go to great lengths to improve their facial appearance, many overlook the neck, chin, and jaw area altogether.
If you are a male who is lacking natural elasticity, or if you are dealing with hanging skin or fat, there are excellent solutions, one being neck lift surgery.
It is, however, that you research and know all the facts before making a final decision on neck lift surgery. Below you’ll find valuable information that can help you to understand the benefits and process of the Male Neck Lift treatment.
What Is Male Neck Lift?
When it comes to drooping skin around the neck region, the Make Neck Lift can offer a significant improvement. As men age, their skin begins to lose elasticity, particularly around the neck. The Male Neck Lift can remove saggy bands of fat and skin that have accumulated over time.
The Neck Lift Surgery in New York City is used to treat the jaw, chin, and neck areas; bringing forth a younger-looking, slimmer appearance. The surgery works to tighten the jowls and reduce the look of fat deposits; ultimately removing the double chin. The most noticeable benefit is that the surgery can accentuate the jaw area and diminish the appearance of jowls.
Why the Male Neck Lift?
Whether it be from aging, weight gain or weight loss, the Male Neck Lift surgery removes fat and loose skin around the jaw, chin, or neck areas. The procedure is performed to define the neck and recontour the area to show a more youthful, slender appearance.
Patients who have received the Neck Lift Surgery come away with a more defined and natural jawline. Each procedure is customized to fit the individual patient’s needs. With that in mind, Male Neck Lift patients can expect personalized results.

Male Neck Lift Procedure
The Male Neck Lift, also known as a Neck Suspension Surgery, is an effective procedure that works to reduce the fullness and size of a man’s neck. A less invasive alternative, a neck lift involves the placement of two extremely small, 1/4-inch incisions made behind the earlobe on both sides of the head. Next, a 1-inch incision is made at the crease section of the neck just under the chin. Barely noticeable, these incisions help to create a masculine line at the neck and jaw. This is done by drawing together the neck muscles in a way that produces a tighter neck structure.
*Each patient is unique and individual results may vary.
Are You a Good Candidate for A Male Neck Lift?
If you are suffering from a “turkey neck,” double chin, sagging skin, or fat around your neck area, you may very well be a good candidate. The Neck Lift Surgery can be performed on healthy, non-smoking males. Patients must not be currently taking certain medications, such as Xanax, also known as anxiolytics.
A Neck Lift candidate will have some elasticity left in their neck area. Ideal patients will also have a realistic outlook for the surgery. A good candidate’s skin should endure a good amount of stretching.

Male Neck Lift FAQs?
The neck lift is a quite straightforward and typically takes between two and three hours to complete. The anesthesia used and Dr. Steinbrech will determine how long the process will last. Most patients will need local anesthesia along with a sedative; even so, some patients want to be asleep and select the general anesthesia.
Because the Neck Lift is a surgery, most patients will need to take time from work in order to recover. Generally speaking, patients can return to their jobs after a week or two. The first twenty-four hours after the procedure, patients will want to ensure they have a friend or family member with them at all times to ensure they can get around without any difficulties.
During the first couple of days, the patient will be spending their time resting in the bed. Dr. Steinbrech will most likely prescribe pain medication in order to help the patient control discomfort and pain associated with the surgery.
Male Neck Lift results will typically continue to improve with time; even once the patient has recovered from the surgery. It usually takes around six months to observe optimal results.
Patients who refrain from smoking, drinking, and other lifestyle habits that could impair results are likely to recover and achieve their desired appearance more quickly. Any scarring is usually minimal, especially when performed by an experienced surgeon such as Dr. Steinbrech. Most patients can expect the results of the Neck Lift to last anywhere from five to ten years.
As with most any kind of surgery, there is risk involved. Cosmetic procedures are no different than other surgical procedures when it comes to these risks. Whether it be a risk of infection or allergic reaction, it’s important for every patient to discuss side effects and results with Dr. Steinbrech prior to the procedure. However, these types of complications are usually extremely rare and can be further reduced when the patient follows the doctor’s order and abides by all post-op instructions.
In general, Male Neck Lift patients can return to work within one to two weeks after their surgery. However, even once they return to their jobs, patients will have to be mindful of their limitations and avoid any kind of strenuous exercise or work activities. As with any surgery, patients should always wait until they have been seen for a follow-up appointment before returning to their job.
